The modular metallic flue and chimney systems regulated by the harmonized standard EN 1856-1 /-2 are included in the list of CP indicated in the CPR in its Annex IV (Table 1 – Area Code 6), so they are under the scope of applicability of that regulation, combined with the indications of the harmonized standard. All information indicated in this document hereinafter is directly related to the documentation specific for chimney and flue systems.

Not all the manufacturers comply with the requirements of CE-Marking please note the information that chimney manufacturers are obliged to provide with the flue system.

The documentation that must exist in order to fulfill the new regulation is as follows:

    • Declaration of Performance: (hereinafter ‘DoP’): Document made by the producer where all performances of CP in relation to the essential characteristics of those products are listed. This document replaces the Declaration of Conformity CE of the old Directive.
    • Instructions and safety information: Document made by the producer that must accompany the product.
    • Certification of Conformity of the Factory Production Control (hereinafter ‘CoC’): Document is issued by a Notified Body. With that document this Body certifies that they have made the corresponding audits so the Factory Production Control is warranted according to EN 1856-1.
    • CE labels: All elements must have their own CE label that unambiguously identifies the product, its certification numbers and its technical performances.
    • Technical documentation: This is all the documentation (drawings, test reports, etc.) that completely defines the system and its performances warranted by the tests.
